Town Centre Facilities
Andover is a picturesque and historic market town in the Test Valley area of Hampshire, with Test Valley consistently rated as one of the best places to live in the UK.
The town centre is a popular and attractive destination and, as well as being mentioned as far back as the Domesday book, owes much of its current character to Andover’s prominence as an important 18th century staging post, with many of the current buildings maintaining their charming style and features from this period – notable amongst these being the imposing Grade II Listed Georgian Guildhall.
Modern day Andover is a compact and bustling town centre, with a very pleasant pedestrian environment which boasts over 250 retailers, from High Street favourites such as Boots, Ernest Jones, M&S, The Body Shop, WH Smith, Waterstone’s & Waitrose, to an array of specialist independent stores including jewellers, art galleries, gift shops, opticians, clothing boutiques, homeware shops and health food specialists, all of which offer friendly and knowledgeable customer service.
The town has a fantastic streetscene and a great variety of places to eat & drink, with over 30 pubs, restaurants, cafes and coffee shops, many of which sit alongside the tranquil River Anton as it weaves through the town centre. The range of boutique coffee shops, appetising restaurants, traditional hostelries and tempting eateries make it the ideal place to relax and meet with friends.
With a twice-weekly market, regular speciality events, annual Carnival and many other activities, Andover has a real buzz throughout the year.
Conveniently located off the A303, the town has great road links to the M3 & M4 motorways and a direct fast rail link to central London. The town centre is also served by over 2,000 car park spaces and plays host to a Leisure Centre, Theatre, Shopping Centre and Museum, meaning that there really is something for everybody in the town.
Andover is certainly sure to impress and we look forward to welcoming you to our charming town.
